Here at Your Local Sewist, we pride ourselves on quality work and service. The skill of sewing, dressmaking and tailoring takes years to learn and perfect and involves a great deal of detail from inception to creation. All of this takes time. Please allow plenty of turnaround time for your garment. All rush work will incur a 30% surcharge. Please book in online for an appointment. Priority is given to customers who book and drop ins will need to wait. Please see FAQ for common service questions.

Who is YLS?
I learnt to sew from my “wartime” Nanna in London. She often said to me that if she didn't sew it or grow it, they had no clothing and nothing to eat!
Later in my sewing journey, I attended sewing schools, workshops and observed those very skilled in their craft.
